Burna Boy is nominated in 10 categories such as Male artiste of the year, Song of the year, Album of the year, Afrobeat single of the year, best R n B single, Songwriter of the year, Best recording of the year, Best collaboration, African artiste of the year and Digital artiste of the year.
ASAKE
Ahmed Ololade professionally referred to as Asake emerges as the second most nominated artiste at the 16th headies award. Asake is a Nigerian Afrobeats singer and songwriter who has been making waves in the music industry since his debut in 2021. He is known for his unique sound, which fuses elements of Afrobeats, hip hop, and dancehall. Asake received a total of 8 nominations, making history as the first artiste to receive so many nominations in their debut appearance at The Headies. The YBNL signee also created history by becoming the first musician to receive nominations for both “Best Male Artiste of The Year” and “Next Rated” in the same year.
KIZZ DANIEL
Oluwatobiloba Daniel Anidugbe a.k.a Kizz Daniel ranks the 3rd most nominated artiste with 6 nominations at the 16th headies. The Buga star has 3 Headies award to his name hoping to add his six nominations this year to the list of accolades.
DAVIDO, REMA, PHEEELZ, OMAH LAY AND SIMI
American-born Nigerian singer, songwriter and record producer Davido ranks the 3rd artiste with the most nominations in the history of the headies award with 31 nominations to his name but has won 5 awards. The 30BG Boss bagged 5 nominations at the 16th headies alongside Simi, Omah lay, Pheelz, and Rema. His nominations are: Best Insirational Single, Album of the year, Best collaboration, Best recording of the year and Headies Viewers Choice.
Simi ranks as the 5th artiste with the most all time Headies nominations with 33 nominations to her name, including the five nominations at the 16th Headies, the nominations are; Songwriter of the year, Best R n B single, Best vocal performance female, Best R n B Album and Best Female artiste, but inorder to attain these awards she has to contend with Tems, Tiwa Savage, Ayra Star, Waje, Johhny Drille amongst others.
